A Closer Look at AccountNow

in AccountNow, PrePaid Debit Card, Second Chance Banking

Some of the most popular second chance bank accounts available are issued by a company called AccountNow.  This article takes a closer look at AccountNow and their products.  If you are comparing different second chance banking products, you need to check this article out.

AccountNow, Inc. is a privately held company based in Southern California.  They have been creating innovative banking products since 2004.  Their focus is on helping people who have a difficult time opening “traditional” bank accounts (including folks who have ChexSystems problems and people with bad credit).  Their two main products (the AccountNow Prepaid Debit Visa Card, and the AccountNow Prepaid Debit MasterCard) are designed to completely replace traditional bank accounts.

AccountNow has won a number of awards for these products, and are recognized as the leader in providing second chance banking products and services.  They keep coming out with more features.  Here’s a list of some of the features that the AccountNow Visa Card and the AccountNow MasterCard offer:

  • Direct deposit,
  • Tons of ways to deposit money into your account,
  • Online bill pay and check writing,
  • Online account access,
  • FDIC-insured deposits,
  • Transfer money to your friends and family (for free!),
  • Credit Builder,
  • Line of Credit (no more payday loans!).

There are simply no other companies that offer the same set of features and benefits in a second chance bank account. Plus, we love the fact that the fees for AccountNow cards are low compared to their competition.

For example, if you are currently using check cashing companies to cash your paycheck, you could easily save hundreds of dollars each year by getting an AccountNow card and having your paycheck directly deposited into your account (plus, you get access to your paycheck faster by doing this!).

Another thing we like about AccountNow is that they are a large company that is stable and financially sound. Plus, your deposits are Federally Insured (so you don’t have to worry about losing your savings). We highly recommend AccountNow products, and have heard tons of great feedback from readers who love their AccountNow cards.

I just signed up for accountnow.com and got my visa card in a very timely manner. The customer service reps have “crap for brains”. One of the reps told me as I was trying to explain to her that I couldn’t seem to set up my pin correctly that I needed to remember it–DUH!!!! Also, in setting up my pin no one told me that it had to be a 4 digit number. After several unsuccessful attempts to set up my pin through the automated system, I had to call the accountnow customer service to find out why it wasn’t working and the rep finally told me that it needed to be a 4 DIGIT NUMBER. THAT WAS NEVER SPECIFIED! Needless to say, I spent a good part of my day calling them and trying to figure out why my pin was not accepted! To make matters worse–I went to western union to deposit cash into my new account and then Western Union charges a friggin 4.50 to put money into your own account!!!!! What a GOD DAMN RIP OFF!!!! I HAVE TO PAY ALMOST 5.00 TO PUT MONEY IN MY OWN ACCOUNT????? I AM GOING TO CANCEL THIS CARD ASAP—WHAT A JOKE!!!! TO ALL OF YOU WHO READ THIS FIND ANOTHER BANKING INSTITUTION!!!

Com on guy! Don’t blame Account now for the method YOU chose to deposit money into your account. And about the pin number…when have you EVER heard of any institution asking you to create a pin number with less than 4 numbers? The customer service people gave you a simple answer because the answer was simple! This is not rocket science. A child could do a better job signing up for the card and transferring money than you have. Do your self a favor and next time ask your son, daughter, niece or nephew to explain how to work things.
