Interesting New Debit Card Website

in PrePaid Debit Card

logo_debitfactsMany folks on the ChexSystems list who cannot open a “regular” checking account look into opening a prepaid debit card account.  One of the biggest complaints we hear is from customers who don’t understand how debit cards work.  So, we were excited to hear about a new website that is designed to answer questions about debit cards.

Here are a few quotes from the press release announcing the launch of the new website:

DebitFacts.org is a debit card information Web site sponsored by the PULSE(R) ATM/debit network. Along with the video, DebitFacts.org offers information to consumers about the ease and convenience of paying with debit cards. The site also features money management articles written by certified financial planners and money management experts that detail how consumers can make debit part of their personal money management strategy.

“Debit cards are a convenient way to use and properly manage your money, and this site communicates all the benefits associated with debit cards,” said Cindy Ballard, PULSE executive vice president. “The latest video gives consumers tips to start a savings plan and take steps to better financial planning and money management using features already offered by your debit card and financial institution.”

Already appearing on the site are expert articles from Bruce Cundiff, director of payments research and consulting with Javelin Strategy & Research, and Judy Lawrence, financial and wealth coach and author of The Budget Kit: Common Cents Money Management Workbook. In the coming months, additional expert articles and videos will be posted to the site to offer consumers easy to understand information about debit card uses.
