This is a tip we recently received from a reader. (Thanks Jim!)

Please let your readers know that Washington Mutual will let you open a bank account if you are on chexsystems, but then they will CLOSE the account a week or two later after their “recovery” team reviews your record. So, DON’T open a WaMu account (unless you talk to an account rep about your chexsystems problems FIRST.
