Prepaid Debit Card — More on the Satisfaction Survey

in PrePaid Debit Card

Yeah, yeah. We may be talking a little much about how happy prepaid debit card users are, but we can’t help ourselves. This is the last time (at least this week), we promise.

As we previously mentioned, a recent survey confirms our feelings — people who use prepaid debit cards… really like them!

Prepaid Debit Card users are a satisfied group when you check out the survey conducted by the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA). This survey was geared toward the prepaid card usage by underbanked consumers. These consumers are typically people who have had some type of credit or financial problems in the past, or are possibly just starting out and have not generated a positive financial record yet. This group may find it very difficult to bank in the typical banking environment.

While cash is acceptable by many merchants it certainly has its limitations in today’s society. That is why this group of people is turning to prepaid debit cards for solutions. Prepaid debit cards give them options that “cash only” does not provide them. The first is security; if cash is lost or stolen the chance to reclaim the funds is very poor. With the prepaid debit cards if it is lost or stolen the full amount of the funds on the card, including any unauthorized transactions can be returned to the cardholder. This adds to the comfort level of these individuals.

If you have ever been looking for a good deal on a purchase, or need to buy something that you may not be able to find locally you know that the internet can be a savior. This is another area where the underbanked love their prepaid debit cards. It gives them the ability to find and purchase these items with relative ease giving them the advantages of a typical bank customer. These customers are able to shop from home, search for the best deals available, and not have to fill up the gas tank to do it.

Some of the other popular benefits are being able to keep track of their purchases, avoid overdraft fees at the bank, and the prepaid debit cards are reloadable regardless of your credit history. These consumers also commented that they felt the fee structure was straightforward and easy to understand, and using these cards kept them from overspending. So you can see why prepaid credit card users are a satisfied group.
