From personally experience because the economy is so bad alot of banks are being more lienant. Wells Fargo bank now has something called a second opportunity checking which is very nice, it gives you a gold check card and all of the other banking ammentities. Every check I deposit seems to be placed on hold since I opened the account. You have to apply for a regular checking and once declined they send you a letter in the mail telling you that you may qualify for the opportunity checking. You can fund your deposit right over the phone and the account is opened within two business days. For people in Orlando like myself McCoy Federal Credit Union also offers a second opportunity checking.
